You might be wondering, “why haven’t you been posting blogs?” After all, my last post was all the way back in August of 2018. Well, I want to tell you why I took such a long break.
I’ve been trying to figure out what direction I wanted to take this thing. I wanted to make sure that I was speaking for Katie and only Katie. Not what our culture or anyone else thought I should say. I’ve been trying to decide what my dream is for this blog. And I don’t want to just write posts here and there that are ok, but instead write a couple of really great posts each month.
So, what shall we talk about?
After much thought, I’ve decided what the blog is going to be about:
- Texas and Southern Culture
- Mom Life
And a special topic I’m really excited to discuss is congenital heart disease and how it affects families and children. I’m going to share how we, as a family, decided to adopt and what role my congenital heart disease played in that decision. And Josh, my husband, will be writing posts from time-to-time as well.
I Simply Love Writing
I’m really excited to be back because I love writing and feel that it’s so good for my soul. I like getting up early and waking up with a warm cup of coffee in my hands while reflecting on what’s going on in my personal life or in our culture. And for years (since my college days, in fact) I’ve been slowly working on a novel and dream of one day soon sending it off to an editor and getting it published. I simply love writing. And this blog gives me a place to indulge.
My Hope and Prayer
My prayer is that this blog is a place where you can come enjoy the conversation. Together, I hope we can learn and grow to become better people for our families. I’ll toss out my suggestions about life, family and what the Lord has put on my heart to share with you.
This will be a place for us to lift one another up as we work together to try and figure out this thing called life while providing a space for you to come and leave the noise of the day behind.
Thank you for joining me here in this place where I’m so excited to connect with you. And, as promised, more to come soon.
